FWIC Convention 2012

The FWIC 2012 convention will be held at the Mary Winspear Centre in the beautiful town of Sidney on Vancouver Island.The Convention takes place  from June 12th to June 16th 2012. The Centre is only minutes from the Victoria International Airport and from the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal.  From the Swartz Bay Ferry terminal, drive south on the Patricia Bay Highway for about 10 minutes, take the Sidney exit on the left. The Mary Winspear Centre is on the right hand side of the street, welcoming people to the picturesque seaside town of Sidney. It is a beautiful well kept complex with ample parking for visitors plus is fully wheelchair accessible. There is also RV parking on site, with access to the shower and washroom areas in the Centre.

The grounds are attractive, with a pond in front of the main entrance that is surrounded with roses and other plantings. There is a plaque by the pond acknowledging  the North Saanich Women's Institute for their efforts in leading to the land acquisition for this memorial park.The interior of the centre is spacious and well organized. The Bodine Family Hall, a large 800 square foot area, will be the area where the entertainment,  dining, round table discussions and the Banquet will take place. Other areas have been assigned to registration, workshops, board meetings , coffee breaks and meals served up smorgasbord style.We are looking forward to the wonderful opportunity to explore Sidney and the surrounding areas; to meeting up with old friends; to making new ones and to have the chance to take part in our National Convention.
